In the fall of 2023 members of the Allied Marketing Group(AMG) were given an opportunity to start operating three existing feedlots in Picture Butte, AB. What might seem like a crazy project to some was an unpassable opportunity to the AMG group. AMG was started in 2010 as a group of 6 feedlots who together collaborate ideas, market cattle, benchmark cattle performance and costs, group purchase inputs, and most importantly have fun. The operation of feedlots was the obvious next step in their journey together. The group identified five key leaders in their companies willing to give up their time to this venture – these five make up the operating board of Allied Cattle Company Inc.
Allied Cattle Company (ACC) now operates three feedlots north of picture with a capacity for 65,000 hd of cattle. Their proud to have a staff of around 50 people, a handful who have worked at the feedlots for over 10 years. ACC works with local vets (Alberta Beef Health Solutions) and nutritionists (Cattle Heath Management) and other various industry experts.
